Who are America’s greatest heroes? George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, Martin Luther King Jr., Joshua Chamberlain?

Several days into the battle, Chamberlain and his unit were stranded defending a ridge that was vital to the Union. After repelling multiple waves of rebel attacks, Chamberlain and his men were left with no ammo and no chance of reinforcements.
As the rebels gathered at the bottom of the ridge for another attack, Chamberlain was out of ammo, men, and choices. The rebels began their charge. He had to do something or he would lose the ridge and the Union would be defeated.
What did he do?
He took action. Chamberlain gathered his men and charged down the hill. The rebels were so stunned that they thought Chamberlain must have been reinforced and retreated.
By simply taking action, Chamberlain turned the tide of the battle and the war.
