Building Strength for the Long Journey to Success

Do you actually know that in order to build muscle, you need to become weaker, before you become stronger. What I mean is, if you were to go to the gym to lose weight and build muscle, after you workout, your body repairs or replaces damaged muscle fibers through a cellular process where it fuses muscle fibers together to form new muscle protein strands or myofibrils. These repaired myofibrils increase in thickness and number to create muscle hypertrophy (growth). Muscle growth occurs whenever the rate of muscle protein synthesis is greater than the rate of muscle protein breakdown. This adaption, however, does not happen while you actually lift the weights. Instead, it occurs while you rest.
What’s happening in the invisible space underneath, your skin, all the way down to the microscopic level, are tears in your muscle, in other words, when you start pushing on that stress, the weight that your muscles are not use too, your muscle’s buckle under the pressure. Now, they don’t buckle to the point where you can’t do it, assuming you’re doing it correctly, so the reps that you are doing create an opportunity. So going back to the point, the moment you put the weight on the bar and push on it is when you basically break down your muscle, muscle tears microscopically and then what happens is it starts to repair itself. Once repairs are complete, that muscle that was torn is now reinforced so it is now capable of carrying the load that you were putting on it.
So let’s bring this home and why I’m bringing this up.
For you to be able to get to the level of success that you want, there has to be stress. Now there is good stress and bad stress, the good stress is where you can actually put enough in there to have a good work-out. The bad stress is when you put way too much weight on bar, and tear your muscle to the point where it’s not part of the growth but actually damages the muscle.
So as Entrepreneurs, some of the things we struggle with is we don’t know that we have to become weaker before we can be stronger and the other thing is as we push on this weight of change, we get sore, and for some people that is a deterrent to not do anymore. And just like growing personally, if you decide to start growing as a Mother, A Father, A Husband, A Wife, A Man of God or Woman of God or Business Owner, and you start picking up books to read, listen to audio’s, and watch things well that is like psychological weight lifting. “Working out in your mind” So when you do that, your going to put stress on your mind, your mind will feel that stress and the weight of it.
So here how you will know that you are actually growing, and most people miss it. If you are actually growing based upon new information that is good for you, it’s going to challenge you. You may get headaches, you may become confused, you may be irritable. You may become short tempered or even behaving in weird ways or ways you never thought you would do. That is a sign, an attempt to change who you are. But just like going to the gym one time or reading one time, doesn’t work. Nor does spacing it out here and there. There has to be a routine of growth.
Just remember, that in the beginning, it will be very painful. You will recognize your short comings, your failures, your weaknesses and your blind spots but like working out, you have to keep going to see results.
So my point is this, if you really want to change and have success in your business, are you stressing your mental muscles to the point where they are breaking down the strength that you have and challenge yourself so you can be better.
Real growth comes from a plan of action where you sitting down and writing out areas of your life that you want to change. It could be your faith, it could be your family dynamic, your finances. At the end of the day, you need to set up a game plan and put into motion, and like working out, you need to give yourself a schedule. You need to stretch your mental muscles because when you stretch and put weight on those muscles, those muscles have no choice but do one of two things.......Either buckle under the pressure and you actually hurt yourself or done correctly, manage stress and effort and you start to grow.
There is no try, it’s either do or don’t. Be consistent and watch out for the Laziness and watch out for the excuses. Take 15 mins a day and read something, then take another 10 mins to reflect on what you read.
Do you Journal? Do you listen to at least one audio a day for 30 mins? Not related to
Business, I’m talking about personal development.
Do an event once a month. Google and attend an event ran by well respected people and find yourself attending an event once a month. You need to do these kinds of things consistently and make a plan to do them over the next 12 months.
Calendar out for the next 12 months for your growth and change.
Who you are now, you have build a complex set of skills, ideas and philosophies of who you are. Some stuff will be easy for you to do and other stuff not so easy and some of this stuff that needs to happen is hard because it’s not who you are.
If you really want to change, your going to have to press that weight.
Your going to have to become Weaker before you become Stronger.
