So what is a distraction, here is the Google definition.
Unable to concentration because your mind is preoccupied.
The thing that prevents someone from giving full attention to something else.
Here are 3 things that are the most painful and damaging to our productivity and results.
Listening to many people. Do not listen to people who are not qualified. You need to be clear that you don’t get distracted by somebody else opinion, philosophy and don’t second guess yourself based on someone else’s opinion.
Being busy versus productive. “Movement doesn’t mean progress” - you can jog in place but are you going anywhere? Be clear on what’s busy and what’s productive. If you are not moving forward, you’re just busy. Stop wasting your time and start moving forward. Ask yourself, “What’s the result I’m going for?
Procrastinating on critical tasks that need to take place. Stop saying I’ll do it tomorrow. I’ll do it when I’m done scrolling Facebook. I’ll do it in the morning, etc. What’s the largest nation in the world? PROCRASTINATION. Procrastination leads to laziness, and laziness leads to poor productivity, and poor productivity leads to poor results and its a vicious cycle.
Need to prioritize our tasks....one recommendation is take the biggest task and do them early in the day or first thing. We mess up by doing the easy stuff first. You should do hard stuff first thing when you are fresh and have lots of energy. You need to get focus and committed to what needs to get done.
