“How To Go Deeper In Your Personal Development”

Do you have some blind spots when it comes to your personal development.

I know I do!

Are you tired of money being the way it is, tired of marriage the way it is, your carrying around some emotional baggage, maybe some trauma, there are a lot of things we walk around with because none of us will get through this life unscathed! We are all going to have some battles.

Here’s the challenge most of us have, we can go wide when it comes to our personal development but not deep and here’s the difference between going wide versus deep.

You need to chop down your time into small 15 minutes or less, and it will have a much more impact. For example, you can read a book or listen to an audio tape but that’s as far as it goes, to go deeper you should read for 15 minutes then journal - this will help go deeper because your not just reading to get it done.

I want t introduce you to a method called “HEAR” method which will help you go much much deeper into your personal development journey and you should start to see some real true change.

“HEAR” method promotes transformation change.

Acronym “HEAR” stands for:

  • Highlight - Step 1

  • Explain - Step 2

  • Apply - Step 3

  • Respond - Step 4

Set aside your reading time, 15 minutes and what you want to do is tap into the “HEAR” method.

Step 1: Highlight - Write down the section of the reading that made an impact on you! Because that particular nugget of reading is speaking to you. Something is going to tap into your soul. By writing this down, it is your highlight moment. Write down the chapter or page number so you can find it again.

Step 2: Explain - Create an explanation on why this impacted you. Take a moment to think about why the author wrote this and why it affected you.

Step 3: Apply - What can it do to help you? How did it help you? What’s it really saying to you. What does this look like in your day to day life. If you applied this how would you apply this into your life.

Step 4: Respond - Find out what kind of response is necessary from that content. For example, maybe you will write down a call to action that you need to take advantage of right away. Maybe you will decide how you will be different because of that and work to be different and make changes.

As you start to move in your change, it’s going to be uncomfortable. It’s going to be inconvenient but that is where you really start to grow.

As you start to work on this process of change, you are going to experience some stress because of who you are currently is now being challenged by a new version of who is trying to be born.

This could come in sweaty palms, being irritable, short temper, experiencing bouts of confusion,

stomach aches, things that you normally would not associate with development, all of this is directly related to how your Body, Mind and Soul are trying to adapt to this new information and the application of it.

But whatever you do, don’t stop! I’m telling you all the stress factors so when you do get that headache, or feel irritated, or short tempered - you will know its your change trying to take place.

It’s like going to the gym, when your muscles feel soreness and stiffness, all it means is your working muscles are not use to being worked so all you need to do is keep going until those muscles can make the adjustments to the new stress, and then a new you starts to be unveiled.

Stop listening to audio after audio and reading book after book, it’s time to chop it down into smaller pieces and let’s not go so wide! We need to have a little width but let’s focus on depth!

There is no way your going to be able to attract the change that you want, without really changing.

Quote by Will Smith ”Set a goal so big that, that it’s impossible for you to hit it, until you change into the person you need to be to hit that goal”

There is so much more value in going Deeper in your personal Development than going Wide!

2 Books that are good reads are, “Psycho-Cybernetics” and “What to say when you talk to yourself”
